Two Years Later, We Are Still Building the Table!

Two Years at the Table: Celebrating the Build the Table Premiere

October 5, 2026 marks two years since the premiere of Build the Table: The Daily Dressings™ Brand Story.

Two years of creating space, building community, and bringing creative vision to the table.

Two years ago today, we built the table!

On October 5, 2024, we gathered at Seek Studios in Philadelphia for the Build the Table Film Premiere Experience, presented by Daily Dressings™ and Elitism Group.

The experience brought together entrepreneurs, creatives, storytellers, supporters, and community members for an afternoon centered around the power of building something of your own.

Our event host Mamacita welcomed guests and helped guide the experience, while Sonia Blount, Founder of Kabila Events LLC, shared her story, introduced Kabila Events, and reflected on the Build the Table project.

Throughout the experience, guests were invited to explore artwork showcased by Aniyah Shubert, participate in portrait sessions with Arekusn X Carpena, connect with one another, and celebrate the creative community surrounding the film.

It was intentional from the beginning: Build the Table wasn't meant to simply be watched.

It Started With a Story

October 5, 2024 — Elitism Group X Daily Dressings™ — where Build the Table began.

What began as a documentary directed by Not|Jax Productions, about the journey behind Daily Dressings™ became something much bigger, a space for creatives, entrepreneurs, storytellers, and community to come together. The original film celebrated the milestone of a local, BIPOC-led business while amplifying the voices of entrepreneurs in our community.

At its core, Build the Table was never just simply about building a brand.

It was about what happens when you stop waiting for someone to offer you a seat and begin creating the spaces, opportunities, and relationships you want to see!

Two years later, we are still building!

Build the Table documented the story behind Daily Dressings™ highlighting the creativity, risks, pivots, relationships, and persistence that helped turn an idea into a growing brand!

But sharing that story opened the door to conversations that extended far beyond Daily Dressings™.

What does it actually take to bring a creative vision to life?

How do independent creatives build sustainable careers?

How do we create opportunities for ourselves while opening doors for the people coming behind us?

And perhaps most importantly:

What can happen when we build together?

Those questions have continued to shape every chapter of Build the Table since.

From a Film to a Gathering Place

Film brought us together. The conversations around it kept the table growing.

Over the last two years, Build the Table has traveled beyond its original premiere.

We have brought the film into new spaces, partnered with creative organizations, hosted screenings and conversations, and continued connecting filmmakers, entrepreneurs, artists, founders, and supporters.

Each gathering has looked a little different.

Some moments have happened on screen.

Others have happened during moderated panel discussions, through introductions across the room, or in conversations that continued long after the program ended.

That evolution has reinforced something we believed from the beginning:

The table is not a physical place. It's the community we create around it.

The Table Got Bigger

Build the Table: Converting Vision to Value brought creative voices together for an honest conversation about turning ideas into action.

This year gave that idea an entirely new meaning.

On August 31, 2026, we gathered at Fitler Club for Build the Table: Converting Vision to Value, a sold-out evening centered on what happens after the idea.

This program brought together filmmakers, creatives, entrepreneurs, and community members for film, conversation, networking, and honest dialogue about turning creative vision into something sustainable.

We explored the importance of knowing your TRIBE.

The power in storytelling.

Belief system.

Collaborating intentionally.

And creating opportunities instead of waiting for permission to pursue them.

But some of the most meaningful moments weren't programmed.

They were the conversations happening between guests.

The introductions.

The exchanged information.

The creatives realizing there was someone else in the room they needed to meet.

Those moments are what Build the Table was created for.

The moments between the programming matter, too.

We Didn't Build It Alone

Every creative, collaborator, partner, and supporter has helped us build.

Two years later, one thing is clearer than ever:

There is no Build the Table without the people around the table.

Every filmmaker who trusted us with their work.

Every speaker who shared their experience.

Every organization that opened its doors.

Every creative who collaborated.

Every photographer, DJ, moderator, volunteer, ambassador, partner, and friend who contributed their time and talent.

And every person who bought a ticket, attended a screening, shared a post, made an introduction, asked a question, or told someone else about what we were building.

You have helped shape this story!

What started as the Daily Dressings™ brand story has become a reminder that none of our stories are built entirely alone.

The Table Keeps Growing

The table keeps growing.

A Community in Motion

It takes a community to build the table.

The magic of Build the Table has never existed in only one part of the room.

It's on the screen.

It's in the conversation.

It's behind the camera.

It's in the introduction between two people who didn't know each other before walking through the door.

It's in the person who leaves inspired to finally start the project they've been thinking about.

And it's in the relationships that continue long after everyone goes home.

That's community in motion.

Two Years Down. We Are Just Getting Started.

October 5 will always hold a special place in the Daily Dressings™ story!

It marks the day we took something that had largely existed behind the scenes, the uncertainty, creativity, lessons, failures, relationships, and persistence behind building a brand, and put it on a screen for people to see.

Two years later, the mission continues to evolve!

We want to keep creating rooms where independent creatives can be seen.

Where emerging filmmakers can share their work.

Where entrepreneurs can speak candidly about what building actually looks like.

Where collaboration happens naturally.

And where someone can walk into a room not knowing exactly where they belong and leave having found a connection, an idea, an opportunity, or maybe even the beginning of their own table.

Because building the table was never about creating a seat for one person.

It was about making room for more of us.

Two years later, we are still building.

Cheers! Here’s to Two Years of Building the Table!

And cheers to everything we are still building!
