The Guide to Diving into Entrepreneurship
When many of us visualize Entrepreneurship, we visualize the glitz and the glam. We vision tropical island getaways, foreign cars, and fine dining. The truth is entrepreneurship is not all it’s cracked up to be! It takes years sometimes of consistency for entrepreneurs to reach this sort of success. What you don’t always see is the stress entrepreneurs face behind the scenes. Quite frankly, you will experience a mental rollercoaster of emotions. You will experience moments of anxiety, loneliness and even burnout!
As you enter into entrepreneurship, Anxiety is one of the most common emotions you will experience in before and during your journey. You may question, will this work out for me? Am I wasting my time and money? You should honestly question when you DO NOT feel the fear, because you may not be fully invested in diving into your purpose just yet. We experience this great deal of anxiety simply because our minds are wired mainly for survival. (Please note: I am not a doctor), but I suggest when you experience fear, to push yourself to “ Welcome fear with open arms and dance with it ” recommended by self-made entrepreneur, investor, educator, and YouTuber, Tatiana James. Don’t run from the emotion. Allow your mind to feel every part of it and practice this time and time again. As you continuously train your mind to do this, you will find yourself working towards new experiences more confidently. Keep in mind that entrepreneurs fall, get back up, fall and get back up again.
Understand that you are not alone. This brings us to our next tribulation; Loneliness. Many entrepreneurs throughout their journey experience loneliness. Although you are rightfully aware that you have family and friends that love you dearly and care about you, at times you may experience loneliness. This is sometimes rooted in the belief that we believe when we set out to follow our passions, that we hold our loved ones to a standard that they should automatically support our dreams. The honest truth is, you may not find this support in your loved ones. At least the kind of support you are looking for. Keep in mind that this is your vision and no one will see it the way that you do.
